For Rum & Whisky Lovers

Step through a heavy wooden door, made to evoke a whisky warehouse, and find a small heart-shaped window.
Inside: a hideaway where 1,000 bottles surround you, and time slows down.

Story
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I was born and raised in Hiroshima. In 2006, at 22, I opened a tiny café-bar in the corner of a parking lot.
I could barely drink back then — until one glass of whisky stopped me in my tracks.
The first time I ever thought, “This is delicious,” it felt like fate.
So I went to find out where that feeling came from. Over the years, I’ve visited distilleries around the world — across Scotland and Islay, Japan, the rum islands of the Caribbean, and as far as New Zealand
— always meeting the people who make these spirits, face to face.
What I learned is simple:
the moment you feel the maker’s heart, whisky and rum taste even better.
My job, as I see it, is to be the bridge between those makers and the glass in your hand.
(※We affectionately call this place “Litohapi.”)

Over 1,000 Bottles — Many Found Nowhere Else
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

More than 1,000 bottles line the back bar. About half are Japanese whisky —
likely the largest selection in Hiroshima — from icons like Yamazaki and Hibiki to Sakurao, made right here in my hometown.
Many are bottles you simply can’t find elsewhere:
rare and limited releases I’m able to offer thanks to the relationships I’ve built with distilleries over 20 years. If you love whisky or rum, wherever you’re from, you’ll find something here to surprise you.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
No Cover Charge. No Surprises.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Every bottle is clearly priced, and there’s no cover charge or hidden fee — you pay only for what you order. First-time visitors and longtime regulars pay exactly the same. Both cash and credit cards are welcome. Order easily from our iPad menu in eight languages, with photos and prices for every bottle. No Japanese required.

What Our Guests Say
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Wanting to try some Japanese whiskies on my trip, I ended up here after a fair bit of research — and was not disappointed. The ordering system on the iPad was super slick, and Mika-san provided some great conversation through the evening. Would go back!”

The Makers Come to Us
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The people who make these spirits visit us here —
owners and managers from distilleries like Montebello (Guadeloupe), Laodi (Laos), and Shizuoka (Japan). Those friendships, built over years, are why we can pour bottles and tell stories you won’t find anywhere else.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Visiting Distilleries Worldwide
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I travel to meet makers and see their craft firsthand — from Islay (first visited in 2008) and the Scottish Highlands, to distilleries the length of Japan, to the rum producers of Martinique and Guadeloupe. See the full list on my profile.

A Gift of Thanks — Ghana (2012)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I

n 2012, on our seventh anniversary, I wanted to give lasting shape to the trust and warmth I’d received over the years. With that gratitude, I donated a health clinic to a village in Ghana, through Plan International Japan.
Before it was built, around 2,000 people from five communities had to travel 40 km to reach the nearest care. Today, that clinic still serves mothers and children — a milestone I carry close to my heart.
