About Bar Little Happiness — A Whisky and Rum Bar in Hiroshima
Bar Little Happiness has stood in Nagarekawa, Hiroshima since 2006.
In July 2026, we marked our 20th year.
We specialize in both whisky and rum — a combination found in only a handful of bars in Japan.
Scotland, the Caribbean, Taiwan, and distilleries across Japan — our owner-bartender has visited them in person, listening to the people who make the spirits before choosing each bottle on our shelves.
Local Hiroshima whiskies such as Sakurao and Togouchi are, of course, always here.
Our Japanese whisky selection is among the largest in Hiroshima.
(Suntory, Nikka, Ichiro’s Malt, Saburomaru, Kameda, Shizuoka, Kanosuke, Akkeshi, Mars, Akashi, Okayama, Asaka, Setouchi and more)
Every bottle is labeled with its price and description, so you can choose with confidence even if whisky is new to you.
Look for the large door, modeled on a whisky warehouse,
with a small heart-shaped window.
Inside, the room is lit by candlelight.
Over 1,000 bottles of whisky and rum line the walls.
For food, our bar-exclusive chocolate is by far the most popular order.

Our 20th Anniversary Bottling: “Traveling Lito”
To mark 20 years, we purchased casks from Sakurao Distillery and Ichiro’s Malt (Chichibu Distillery), and released them as bottlings exclusive to Bar Little Happiness.
We named them “Traveling Lito” — after Lito, the small spirit born from twenty years of feeling gathered in this bar, who watches over it still.
Sakurao, from our home ground of Hiroshima. Ichiro’s Malt, the distillery that brought Japanese whisky to the world.
Over these 20 years, we have visited both many times, and been given the chance to hear their makers speak in their own words.
